Admin day
Not much has been happening food wise today as I've been catching up on all sorts of admin and little unfinished jobs. One of which involved nursing my trusty, but now slightly poorly, iPhone 5 which had been showing occasional signs of confusion.
Being the cynic that I am has led me to the conclusion that as it is such an old, (in today's terms), model, obsolescence has been built in. It is therefore more than a little coincidental that the glitches I've been experiencing have started to occur around the same time as the latest launch.
As I'm a bit old school, I'd prefer to attempt a repair instead of chucking it in the bin and rushing off to buy a new one as most slackers would. The first thing to do was back up my phone's memory so I could then perform a full factory reset. This, I realised, is slightly daunting. There was a short window when, (and I don't mean to anthropomorphise my phone but that is the best analogy here), I had put its soul elsewhere while the phone reset.
I then had to trust that the blank slate in my hands would once again have all of its old faculties returned. Fortunately, the technology behaved as it was designed to and my old friend was recognisable once again. So far, the recent glitches haven't returned so it has been a worthwhile exercise. As part of this process, I took as many photos out of my phone as possible. They were either stored elsewhere or deleted and this brings me to the point of my story.
I got to re-discover all sorts of crap I've downloaded ages ago with the intention of illustrating these posts. In fact, I'm sure I've used a lot of it already, but there's no way you'd remember so I can use it all over again. There is a second part to this story but you'll have to wait a couple of days. Until then, please enjoy a sink full of cats.
