Turning a corner
At long last something approaching hope has entered my life as it feels like the worst of this bullshit flu bug is behind me. As I lay awake furious at two thirty this morning after the longest sleep I've had since monday, (about two and a half hours) I had a long time to spend composing this. Fortunately, however, I've had a while to calm down or you'd be reading a lot more swearing.
Though I've still a way to go, I was able to summon the energy to have a shower and a bite to eat. Though I don't recommend trying this, it's amazing to eat after five days of eating nothing. It's no accident that nature has made life essentials pleasurable but I think we kind of take for granted how easy it is to get stimulated. I hadn't noticed any craving for food all week and though today I've only been able to eat a little bit, everything I ate tasted out of this world.
Hopefully by the time I write tomorrow I'll been feeling even more energetic and will have been able to chew down plenty of calories. The doctor said that whatever I eat should be calorie rich, which makes sense, though one of her suggestions was ice cream. I guess she missed the weather report, again.
One upside is I'm beach body ready so if you want a quick shortcut to that perfect figure you've always dreamed of, just catch a proper dosed of flu and... (Don't even think of going there! -Ed.).
