Phat gold chain

A bit of spring cleaning was required so my sleeves got rolled up, planet destroying chemicals were amassed and my trusty beloved was put up on a paddock stand ready for a little fettle. Following months of riding around in shitty weather my Fz1's beautiful gold chain was covered in crud and needed a clean and as it's now spring, today was the day.

A paddock stand, if you're not au fait with such things, is a device that suspends the wheels in the air. I used one for the rear and with my wheel spinning freely, I was able to apply copious amounts of elbow grease and get my chain gleaming. As you can see below.
Grubby  -  Clean                            Shiny!
You'll have to take my word for it as the photo doesn't do justice to the bling adorning my rear sprocket. For added hilarity, after the chain had been scrubbed clean, I had to re-apply fresh chain lube. This I found a real struggle as I had only just cleaned it. Now I just need to give the rest of the bike a clean as it's filthy. (Like your mum? Ho Ho -Ed.)

Back to cooking for a mo, I wanted to give you an idea of some of the tweaks I've been doing, just so you can see I'm tweaking recipes too. A rice dish I was making today called for basil, which I discovered I didn't have. No problem, I used oregano.

I wanted to make some broccoli but give it a new twist so I put some in a very hot wok to sear it, then put in some garlic and chicken stock. The broccoli cooked in the stock as it reduced so I had a broccoli in garlic sauce. There was something else I did that I wanted to share but as I have trouble remembering my name without looking it up, you'll have to take my word for it. The point is that I'm constantly twatting about when I cook and tasting it to see that I'm happy with it.
Tomorrow, adjusting my flange hammer valve.
