Very steep indeed

There I was thinking that I was some shit hot welder, oozing with natural talent but then today happened and I was reminded of my status as a rookie. To make the gizmo that's going to help produce the energy balls version 2.0, I needed to weld up the outside of a corner. As the metal's quite thin the welding gear was adjusted accordingly and I dived straight in.

What I hadn't experienced is that with this setting, I melted everything. Whoops. It turns out the outside of corners are much harder than the inside for reasons I don't fully understand yet and because of the setting, a lot more heat is generated, hence the melting. (3000c, before you ask). Before you get excited, I didn't take a picture so you'll have to imagine something that looks like a waxwork of a leper that's been left near an open fire. Fortunately, tomorrow I can cut out the ugly mess and weld some clean metal in and gain a shed load of useful experience while I'm at it. Lucky me.
To bring us back to the subject of food, I have a question. When did you last clean your fridge? If you own a food business and are given a surprise visit by environmental health inspectors, an easy one for them is the seals on fridge doors. It's often the first place they look as it's a great indicator of what else they're going to find. You'd be amazed how many chefs get caught out.

Though a fridge is cold, mould and slime can grow quite happily in there, so as you spill or drop bits of food over time an occasional clean is necessary.  I know it's boring and lacking glamour but I suggest you make sure it gets done from time to time. One way to make it easy is to do is to clean it in stages, a shelf here, a salad drawer there and the seals another time.

This way, it doesn't feel like a massive chore that involves emptying all the contents everywhere and turning your kitchen into a war zone. You may be one of those folk who likes to do it all in one go, in which case you're very fortunate but most folk never think of cleaning their fridge, and while I don't remember seeing a headline where a family was wiped out as a result of never cleaning theirs, you may want to consider it.
