From balls to cubes

  As a sign of my dedication, the completion of the huge list of tasks for tonight's buffet has been put on hold so I can tap this out for you, dear food fan. This also means that my report with any pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. However, as you saw yesterday there's plenty happening this weekend for me to write about.

  Oh, to add to my packed itinerary, I've been invited on a ride out so after (maybe) buying a car tomorrow morning... (Just get on with it, you're going to tell us eventually. -Ed.). Today will instead be my opportunity to bring you news of the boxes that arrived yesterday.

  So you're up to speed, a while ago I produced a mountain of energy balls and they were packed into resealable, biodegradable, clear plastic tubs. While this was a good idea on paper, there were a number of issues that meant in reality that the ball shape and the tubs were not the best way forward.

  After a bit of head scratching, I came up with the idea of a bar that would be cut into squares and put into a resealable cardboard box. All of the issues created with balls in tubs would be ironed out, all I needed were some boxes. Following some extensive, box related geeky research, I found a supplier, chose a suitable design and placed and order.

  A large box arrived yesterday and a drum roll sounded as I opened it up to see what I'd just spent a lot of money on. Fortunately (Phew! -Ed.) they are just what I hoped I had ordered. (To give you a sense of scale, the box above is about 14 x 8 cm.) The next step is to order a paper liner and organise the graphics. Expect to be kept informed.
