Run!, don't walk.

As your humble servant, (Sorry, did you say humble? -Ed.), I'm happy to be able to pass on a red hot piece of shopping bargain news, so pay attention cos this one's a proper diamond.

In my kitchen I get through a lot of olive oil. Actually, at the rate I get through it, you'd think I bathe in the stuff. However, as you may have noticed it ain't cheap. In fact, if it is cheap you definitely want to be reading the label because it's easy to get caught out. Insist on extra virgin, not blended or pomace. Bleah! My weapon of choice is extra virgin, and even that comes in different varieties.
Get your hands on some of this!
Because I am so inclined, I generally have an expensive bottle of the stuff in the house which is used exclusively for drizzling or any situation where I will appreciate the higher quality. Alongside that, I have my cheaper version which I use practically everywhere else in vast quantities.

I discovered a while ago that Sainsbury's have a Spanish extra virgin olive oil which comes in a 2 litre container and costs less than £4 per litre, which is a bargain. I went in today to get some and there's a special offer on. Not only is the two litre tub reduced, but for some reason the one litre is even cheaper at three pounds bloody fifty! per litre.

This is outstanding and I thoroughly recommend dropping everything and getting yourself down to your local Sainsbury's where you should shamelessly empty the shelves then ask the staff if they have any more in the back and buy all that as well. I only managed to get four as it looks like there are other bargain hunters around but this is more of a reason to get your skates on because word has clearly got out.
