Turn left at Nirvana and just follow the road.

Yesterday you heard I was off on my annual bike trip to Germany but the truth is that while you were reading that, I was only on my way to a mates place in the south coast of England where I would stay the night so it would only be a short ride to the Eurotunnel in the morning.

Today however, the journey proper has started and as you read this, there's a good chance we're just coming to the end of our journey in a tiny village in Germany called Eschfeld. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what dramas, if any, there are to report.
Arthur's workshop. Worth a visit.
It's generally a pretty uneventful day. An early meeting at the Eurotunnel terminal where we beam at each other and our shiny toys then get loaded up and chat like a knitting circle for the thirty minute ride. A quick hundred mile blast away from Calais on the motorway gets us deep enough in France that we can pick up the interesting roads.

A couple of hours later we're at the phenomenal boulangerie we discovered on the second trip and have been to for lunch every year since. Just over an hour away and we're crossing into Belgium and then on to Germany. Then there's normally a nice drink stop by the river before the final run to the villa.

Most of the journey is familiar roads and the last stretch unique as we discover yet another pocket of delight in the Ardennes. Once we've met the owner and pretended to pay attention while we get shown round, it's off to the shops for essential and a hearty meal before collapsing gratefully into bed. Come back tomorrow to see if we had any near misses or speeding tickets to add to the story.
