Loss of a loved one

As action packed as my day was I've learned my lesson from last time and will not keep you in suspense. Instead, I'll cut straight to the chase and confirm that the mojito ice lolly recipe worked. They froze beautifully and came out with a gentle and reassuring stickiness. I liked the sharpness of the lime but the management thought it needed a bit more sweetness. This means I'll need to enlist the help of some junior tasters to get their opinions.

That will happen later and I'll let you know but it has just occurred to me that if you're in my neighbourhood and fancy volunteering for the arduous task of tasting, then let me know and I'll happily enlist your services. Moving on though, one recipe isn't enough so I got straight on to the next flavour, banana colada.
Fancy a lick?
As I'm testing flavours, I'm using and ice cube tray and this time I actually remembered to put in some cocktail sticks (as you can see above). The banana colada has a lovely creamy texture, but the first one didn't quite have enough banana so I've added some and put another tray in to freeze. You will be informed, of course.

In brief, as I've taken a lot of your time already, the other big action was the sad demise of my laptop. I noticed last night it wouldn't turn on so this morning I shot down to my local, trusty Mac specialist who gave me the news. Dead and unrepairable but all data recoverable. Bollocks and phew!

First stop eBay to find another, and as luck would have it someone had just listed one and they lived right round the corner. I popped over, had a look, made an offer, shook their hand and headed back to the Mac repair shop so they could fit a new screen (under warranty) and clone my hard drive. As I said, this is the story in brief but I can assure you that it was a real emotional roller coaster ride. Tomorrow, lollies, probably.
