Roll on breakfast
Tomorrow marks the start of the next phase of the LCHF experiment. In all honesty, I'm telling you as it just popped into my head while I was thinking of what to write. Time will tell if this is something I sustain but for the moment, I'm merely curious to see what the effects are of eating LCHF for two weeks and regular healthy for one.
The details of the plan are that the weeks end on Wednesday and start again on Friday, (Thursday is a fast day). Choosing this timing will help with my impatience as often happens as weekends approach and temptations meddle with an otherwise iron resolve.
What is odd is the realisation that as since the end of March I've been either strictly LCHF or completely off the leash, I've forgotten what I eat. There's not much doubt that as of first thing tomorrow morning I'll remember pretty quickly, especially as I'm looking forward to revisiting my old friend, the banana smoothie.
May contain sugar.
Saturday should be a doddle too as the management has some of her family coming over and, weather permitting, I plan to chuck a massive chicken and a huge pile of vegetables at my BBQ. For good measure, I've invited an old friend who I'm looking forward to catching up with. Their name is hummus and I've missed them terribly.
Hmmm, I'm now considering celebrating their reappearance in my life by buying dried chickpeas and doing things properly. Let me just say, I have no problems with using tinned chickpeas for hummus but it feels like a special occasion so I might just push the boat out a little. Watch this space.
As a parting shot, a quick note about yesterday's suggestion about shopping during popular football matches. I was chatting to my butcher about my experience in the empty supermarket and it appears I'm not the only one. In fact, I was given a very interesting tip, which is that restaurants are often empty on these occasions too so if there's somewhere that is normally quite hard to get a table, you may suddenly find it very easy to get in. Food for thought.
