The joy of leftovers
Instead of making assumptions about your perception of leftovers, I'm going to assume that everyone has a different opinion and that includes you. (Unless you have the same opinion, in which case you're confused). Let's assume there are a number of folk who view leftovers like second hand clothes and some of those people turn their noses up at the idea.
This is a shame for a number of reasons as I will now explain. There's a bit of a guess why noses get turned up at leftovers so let's go for the obvious ones. Like clothes, they might prefer their food new. However, leftovers haven't been used before, that would just be weird. Some food definitely is better served immediately like a bowl of cereal or a slice of toast or pizza but there's loads that are fine.
Starting young.
The reason I'm looking at leftovers today is because it may be worth re-evaluating them and instead of seeing them as something accidental and fortuitous, how about going out of your way to create them? In other words, cook too much now and save yourself a bit of time later. Sound like a plan?
On to even more serious matters such as gentle adult guidance. What you can see above is the evidence of wise encouragement. An appreciation for the finer things in life has been coaxed into existence, and while the young one may not be able to reach the pedals, he's certainly becoming familiar with the joy of motorcycles.
There is a small hurdle for him (and his almost as enthusiastic brother) to leap over on the way to a healthy future astride bikes which comes in the shape of his highly irrational mother. However, they'll not be under her thumb forever. It's just a matter of time and I'm happy to wait.
