Lamenting falling standards.

Don't be embarrassed. You're reading tonight's post to find out if it's worth cooking up a excuse to get your arse down to see The last Jedi. Fortunately, the title of tonight's missive has nothing to do with the film and more to do with the first half of last night's dinner and a movie.

The evening was spent accompanied by one of my homies, and to keep mine company, he came with his inner seven year old in tow. The votes were in for burgers so we headed to Byron where the kids got food while the adults got booze. There once was a day when I rated Byron but the standards have fallen.

I'm not sure when I went there last but it feels like the earnest excitement felt by those responsible for starting the place and bringing fine burgers to a discerning public has been replaced by the boring efficiency of accountants more interested in bottom line. In case you need help reading between the lines, avoid the place like the plague, there are better burger places, normally just a stone's throw away.

Only a hundred and twenty quid!
But now on to what's been happening a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Quite simply, grab your inner child, any other children in the vicinity, and go see it. Yes it's a big blockbuster movie and it's as unlikely to win any awards for it's script or acting as it is likely to sell a shit load of merchandise, including, and I shit you not, a nerf gun version of Jyn Erso's weapon for a scrotum shrinking two hundred and sixty quid or an AT-ACT walker that shoots nerf bullets for the bell-end jangling price of three hundred quid, (plus postage and import duty).

There's stuff in it for those who can still remember asking their parents to take them to the cinema to see the original in '77 as well as the new, (young), fans. Yes it's two and a half hours long but think of it as good value. It's got plenty of action, moves along swiftly enough and I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially if you see it in 3D and bring a hip flask.
