All packed up and ready to go

The management wants sun and it's always good to listen to the management, especially on our anniversary. So tomorrow morning at that's way too early o'clock we're setting off for Gatwick and a long weekend in sunny Spain. Murcia, to be exact. This makes me very excited but probably for a different reason than you'd imagine.

One of the features of the little place we're staying in is an outdoor BBQ so you can imagine where this is going. The place we're heading for is outside of town on the side of a hill and if the photos are to be believed, the views are unspoiled and spectacular. But we're a long way from anywhere or anything.
Hilarious stuff!
The owner suggested that after we leave the airport, we stop at a large supermercado to stock up for the weekend. You know I've been dreaming up my shopping list for the last three days and it will come as no surprise that my dreams last night were all about food. What's on the menu? I hear you ask, (and I'm glad you did).

First on the grill over the gently glowing embers will be a chicken. My plan is to open it up (spatchcock is the technical term) and leave it for as long as possible at as low a temperature as I can sustain for as long as possible Towards the end, I'll get some slightly hotter embers prepared and grill a pile of veg to accompany it with and slide the whole lot onto a plate with a mound of salad.

Sound tempting? Excellent, then get yourself organised because it looks like this weekend is going to be a scorcher, which means you have no excuse for not doing exactly the same thing. I want photos! Do you hear me? I want photos and lot's of them! You have no reason to be doing anything else with your weekend so get some charcoal, a top quality bird and get barbecuing or I'll be talking to your management.
